Anyone know if the 2018 1.5 st focus any good.

There is a guy on Facebook marketplace selling one for about 1,200 euro.
    80,000 km on the clock

I’d buy it for €1200 no problem

    €1200 it’s a scam. €12000 still suspiciously cheap.

    Probably not the current model?

How many times do you have to buy it from the seller at that price?

Did you seriously think you could buy a 3 year old Focus for €1234?

No, I didn't. I thought I would chance it as it was up for that price.

Were you going to try make him honour the price advertised or something?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 51,363 ✭✭✭✭bazz26

I think the OP wanted to haggle them down to 1200 going by the first post.

HE does have it advertise for the price and not 14,000.

€1234 is just a way of putting an add up without a price, same as listing it for €1 or €123 or whatever

    Well this is interesting

    That means diddly squat though.

    Well this is interesting

You're the only one that can get a new Focus ST Line for €1,234.

Probably. The existing one isn't near broken in yet.

Can't understand why ford brought out the 'ST Line'. Should have kept 1.0 and 1.5 litre engines away from the ST range. IMO

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 51,363 ✭✭✭✭bazz26

ST Line and ST are not the same thing though. ST Line is a trim, ST is performance.

They are not the only marque to do that. Kia do with there GT line Sportage and Ceed. Hyundai do with the N line cars.
I think Renault might do it to with an RS line.
I am sure some other marques do too.

Exactly my point. You've a whole range of st lines with ST stickers stuck on them.
And that's before the hardship of trying to find a genuine ST for sale while shifting through pages of 1 litre Ecoboost St Lines.

Have you not heard of the filter by engine size? Do you know what engine size a Ford Fiesta/Focus has?

Ah I know that, but I just don't like it. Same when they got rid of the ST for a while and brought in the Titanium, Titanium X and Titanium X Sport. Should have left the ST range alone and not changed it to Titanium X and TitX Sport.
Just a little peev of mine is all

Just get a Megane RS instead. Stunning car.

When did Ford start putting ST badges on ST Lines???

Its the same with all makes tho, M Sport, S Line, R Line, AMG Line, etc

Ford didn't. The lads driving them did. Sorry, I wasn't clear on that. But my point remains, I think they could have kept clear of the ST badge for the ST lines. Could have called them something different.

Yea I know, and I feel the same but the thread was about ford's.
I'm a Ford man, so not digging at the brand if that's what you think, just giving my opinion is all.
