Motor tax renewal online says it’s already been sent out

    Just wondering if anyone has come across this before? My motor tax is up at the end of the month. I just got my renewal email there and decided to pay straight away as I’m heading abroad for a few weeks on Friday.
    When I entered my reg number and my pin it said that their records show the tax disc has already been requested online and sent to the registered owners address.
    I checked my bank and it says I paid it on the 17th July last year. Can I not pay until after that date this year ? It’s weird is t it?
    I’ll contact them tomorrow obviously to see what the story is. I’m just curious if others have had this happen?

    Same thing happened to me about 15 minutes ago. I'm going to assume it's a glitch and will try again tomorrow.

    Oh that’s interesting. Must be a glitch. Would be lovely if the discs arrived out in the post eh !

    Same happened to me last weekend. I did request a pin to be emailed and I thought that caused the error, but I went back in 2 days later and it allowed me to tax it without error.

    I tried again today and it went through no problem. Must have been a glitch on the system.

    I think they’ve been hacked and not disclosed

    Had the same issue, finally submitted all documents including log book and payment BY POST anyway as a result a new Log Book was issued from Shannon - all information identical, only difference is the log book number.
    Pretty strange.
