Should I sand this or no?

    Bodywork / paint work boffins:

For insurance reasons I've had to paint the front of my camper conversion. Kinda in a rush to get it done so I'm not overly fussed about the quality. A paint job on the van is a winter project. Anyhoo, I've painted this twice with a roller using traktol, or whatever the motor factor equivalent is.

I think it looks 'grand'. I'm not entirely happy with it but it'll do for now. Someone suggested to me that I rub it down with 1500 to get it to clean up better.

Should I, or will I just rub off the paint completely? Any suggestions / tips appreciated.

    Eh...

Honestly i think it would take the bad look off of it if you painted the area below the vent on the bonnet where you can still see the original colour which is more what you are looking for i think.

And then paint all the rest of the van.

If the finish isn't an issue it isn't an issue. You'll regret sanding it unless you want to start buffing it etc, but it's a can of worms you dont want IMO. It's not like giving it a scrub with 1500 will be the beginning and end of it.

If looks isn't important just spray it all with clearcoat a few layers.

I will ask the obvious question

Yeah, there's a few bits to touch up. I did this in a bit of a rush, and it's the first attempt at painting anything other than the walls in the house.

Finish isn't really an issue no, but if I could do some simple things to make it look less worse......

What will that do? Again, excuse my ignorance here but do I need to clear coat it?

They have said that I cannot have any signwriting / advertising on the van

T-Cut on the sides seems to have done enough to have the letters blend in.

You could try wet sanding with 2000 grit and machine polishing it but the paint might not take to that treatment very well, to be honest if your not bothered by the finish of the paint as it is I'd just leave it alone
