Bikepacking Wild Atlantic Way

Guys, last Thursday I started bikepacking the mighty Wild Atlantic Way. From Cork all the way West, today I'm finishing Ring of Kerry and will continue along the coast.

I see you climbed up to the slate quarry on Valentia, good going. Hope you did the mini ring out by the Kerry cliffs

I was going to but I had a problem with the bike, the spoke and gears had to be repaired

I always use https://imgbb.com/ as the boards attachment feature is so clunky (there's a new version of Boards about to be rolled out which should be better)

Great trip. Not quite as ambitious myself, hope to do Tralee to Galway over a few days in the future. Just did Slea Head over a weekend! Your Photos are amazing. Real inspiration to actually plan my mini trip.

I was planning to, climbed Geokaun Mountain and started raining, so went to get ferry

GT gravel bike, 35 mm Panracer Gravelking AC tyres, Ortlieb saddle and frame bag (16.5l and 6l). Don't remember handlebar bag brand, some no name from Amazon, surprisingly good.

Btw zipper in frame bag broke down, messaged Ortlieb on Instagram and they managed send me a new bag from their representatives in UK, pretty amazing customer service.

Tent - Vango Banshee Pro 2, decent tent in this price range, but if I do something like that again I'll get lighter tent. **** inflatable sleeping mat, Wolf Base, but I think they all not really comfy. Someone recommend me good sleeping mats made in Cork.

There's no cage mounts on fork, had to improvise, so last year I strapped them using electric tape, worked really good, did same this year. Bottle cage itself snapped, lots of vibration etc.

Lady met on Instagram let me camp on her land with beach access, borrowed me this white chair, was gonna stay there for all day, rest and swim but weather changed my plans. Anyway, had visitors in the morning 🙂

I'd imagine that's the Therm-a-rest mats.

Great views, people travel a long way to look at less. Also the peace out there is good for the soul. I’ll have to make a trip out that way again soon. I cycled there from Dublin years ago and took in a lot of beautiful spots up and down the coast over about a week and a half, one of my favourite trips.
