    Hi guys.

Myself, my wife and 2 kids (ages 2 and 4) are heading to Donegal in August for 4-5 days. We'll be staying in Letterkenny.
We've never been to Donegal before so wondering if anyone had any recommendations of things to do, places to go, places to eat etc. for our 2 girls.

Definitely planning on a visit to Derry city one of the days for a few hours anyway but would appreciate any advice on other activities for the few days.

    Thanks very much in advance.

We spent a week just outside Letterkenny, absolutely gorgeous area. Glenveagh National Park is beautiful, you can hire bikes, walk, have coffee/ice creams or lunch there. The house should be open by August. There are beautiful beaches all around. You'll find coffee vans every few miles. I went to The Glebe Gallery, again lovely safe outside space for kids. We drove to Derry to see the murals and Tower Museum, stopped off in Wild Ireland on the way back. I don't have small kids so not sure what there is for them, they might be too small for Letterkenny Activity Centre.

You’ll need to make some trips out from Letterkenny. Dunfanaghy (incl. Horn Head drive), Downings, Ards Forest Park, Marble Hill + then the coast road onward to Falcarragh all very worthwhile. Dunfanaghy has a good selection of places to eat too.
