One of my neighbours used to have a Smart fortwo but long since gone. You miss its little whirl noise as it went buy. A boy racer around here used to have a souped up one lol. There is a for four around here alright but it's not the nicest or best looking one.

So when is the last time people here seen a Smart car on the roads anywhere?

    Live long and Prosper

    Peace and long life.

My Dad just bought a Smart For Two a couple of weeks ago. He's going to tow it behind his campervan. They're more popular on the continent in big urban areas.

It is a pity the smart roadster went out of production so quickly

Are they not being built anymore or something? Because come to think of it, I haven't seen one in at least 2 or 3 years.

There’s no dealers in Ireland any more. There’s one in Belfast, but you’d be dealing with VAT and VRT to import one. So I guess the market is just left with whatever second hand vehicles are still about.

As it happens, I've a neighbour who has two smart cars and I love them, both are roadsters, one the hatchback (the big Arse).

He drives one every day, both 2004 registrations I believe but the hatchback in storage. The one he drives absolutely fiilty, rarely washed, a bit like the owner :) but he's mechanically minded and keeps it well serviced. Really fun car to drive, I'd love one personally but would be worried about servicing and parts etc.

Very very few for sale these days. I wouldn't be keen in the original fourtwo, a bit like something you pump air into, but newer models quite funky in fairness :)

Is maith an scáthán súil charad.

One of my neighbours also has one at least 5 years now. On a (very) slightly related note I saw an Audi A2 this morning!

Disgraceful, hijacking a smart car thread with an Audi :)

Well that's mad. I saw a Smart Roadster just yesterday on the road to Cork and thought to myself hmmm haven't seen one of them in ages. :D

Rejoice in the awareness of feeling stupid, for that’s how you end up learning new things. If you’re not aware you’re stupid, you probably are.

There's one driving all around the country making everyone nostalgic.

I’ve seen one occasionally in Lucan.
But I haven’t been out and about much this past while.
I see thousand of them in Italy, even on the motorways. They can be parked anywhere and you would be amazed where they can be squeezed in. I think they are cute.
It might, I say might only, be an Irish thing, my car is bigger than yours that means you won’t see many of them around.
    But they’re not cheap either!

A car truly ahead of it's time the A2. Do see the odd one around here in Offaly every now and then.
