What qualifies as a group 1 vehicle?

I was wondering what vehicles you are allowed to drive with a standard driver's license that allows you to drive group 1 vehicles? Does this include mini vans, transporters or camper vans? Or would those fall under group 2?
I looked at the charts and diagrams but I'm not sure if something like this would already be regarded as a bus, which is listed under group 2 vehicles?

If it has 8 seats or less and weighs less than 3500kg, you are covered on your B licence. A friend of mine has a vehicle like the one in your picture as he has 5 children and is covered just fine.
Not sure about the Group 1 thing but here is the information from NDLS as to what your B licence will cover you for here: https://www.ndls.ie/about/licence-categories-and-codes.html#licence-categories

Where did you find that info about "group 1" or "group 2"?
Never heard of such classification of vehicles anywhere in Europe.

And coming back to your subject regular car licence in EU is licence category B licence.
In short it allows you to drive cars and vans with DGVW up to 3500kg (that's weight specified by manufacturer as being total weight of vehicle + allowed load).

Any vehicle with space for more than 9 people (driver + 8 passengers) will need a bus licence.
Any vehicle with DGVW of more than 3500kg which isn't a bus will need a truck licence.

In generall vast majority of vans even those big ones like Transit, Renault Master will be within 3500kg.
Anything bigger is condsidered a truck.

Group 1 and Group 2 are used by NDLS to classify vehicles according to the needs when applying for a licence. Group 1 a are the A categories, B, EB, M & W. Group 2 is the C and D categories which require a medical and an eyesight report on first application and medical report every 5 years thereafter. I just renewed my D category and the form clearly explained the groups. Don't think it has any other relevance.

Op, a transporter van is fine
