Will a new Triton T90SR fit exactly in the place of an older T90SI ??

It's a few years since I did the same but I think you will need to drill new mounting holes for the new unit.

The water and electrical feeds are in the same place.

Is it a better machine given it’s a much newer model? Quieter?

Yes we went from SI to SR, it's at a stage now where you actually wonder whether the shower is on or not in other parts of the house, I highly recommend. Have it about 2 years.

Some people have said the pressure from it is not as high as the SI, perhaps that's true but it's not massively noticeable.

Ya very quiet, as Atlantic said you wouldn't know it was on from another room compared to the old si. It was 10 year old and the pump was about to give up, it was roaring!

Si is slightly bigger than the SR. You will only notice this if your shower was installed wrong and tiled around rather than behind. Si is about 3/4 of an inch wider. As mentioned above, you will need to drill new holes to pin it to the wall. It's a better shower than the si. Slightly more powerful and a lot quieter

Yes woodies is best value. There is a 10 percent increase already imposed by Triton about a month ago. You will see these increasing by 15 or 20 euro in the coming weeks

I have the older T90z and deciding on whether I go with the SR or look at swapping out completely for a mixer bar.
The T90z water pressure is horrible and almost useless.

It's an electric shower rather than a power shower. Electric puts out 3 to 4.5 LPM depending on the time of year. Power showers put out 10 to over 20 LPM. The electric shower is heating the water almost instantly. The power shower needs immersion on for an hour before you have the shower.

I have the Triton T90SR & a bar mixer. Bar mixer is connected to a 3 bar pump & puts out around 23 lpm. Needless to say the electric shower gets little use even though it costs a fraction of using the power shower

    Thanks

Any idea what I can expect to pay to remove the SI and replacing it with the SR?

Do you know if power showers always need a pump and are they compatible with a combi boiler?

Not an easy one to answer. If combi is installed correctly with water for combi & house cold taken from the attic tank & both pumped throughout the house then you will already have a power shower. Unfortunately some plumbers take the feed for the combi boiler from the mains supply & this can make things very difficult. A thermostatic shower requires equal pressure on hot & cold feed. Combi taken from the mains leaves much better hot pressure compared to cold. The thermostatic cartridge can't understand this & most likely you won't be able to control the tempeture
