NCT & tyre sealant

    Hi all

The car is going for NCT this week and I've just noticed that the tyre sealant kit is used (forgot I used it ages ago and didn't get it replaced - not that it actually worked, completely useless). Anyway, does anyone know:
    1. Can/will the car fail the NCT if it doesn't have sealant in the boot, or an open/out of date bottle?
    and
    2. If yes to any of the above, where can I buy a replacement fairly quickly?

    Thanks,
    David

Tyre sealant is not a requirement for NCT so don’t worry about it. A spare tyre is not even a requirement but if it’s there it must be legal.

If they can see it, without disassembling half the car, it must be legal .. if it's under a carpet in the boot (old style) they don't even go looking for it

The spare wheel is not checked for condition, only for security if it’s mounted outside the boot.

That's what I was taking from the RSA NCT manual all right but just wanted to check - thanks for confirming.
