Bit the same for me. Hated the E60 5 Series when it came out in late 2003. Couldn’t get it at all.
Took more than a year but my opinion changed and thought it was one of the best looking cars on the road. On my second now. Been driving one since 2006 and still love it.
Bangle can’t be all bad. He did the Fiat Coupé too remember.

This I now think it's the best car ever and I really hope those stupid motor companies get off their asses and produce one it is after all a car for the average American.

Interior on these let's them down in my opinion. I agree the exterior design has gown old gracefully but the interior looks its age. Same with e60.

E46 coupe. I thought it looked quite bloated vs the e36 when it came out but to see one now, it always turns my head. Better looking than the e92 imho.

Car that i cant get to like is the pt cruiser
For some strange reason i think a mk1 fiat multipla lowered on nice alloys would look well - but when new i hated them

My 2013 Avensis, I bought it after my very much loved 159. When it came to viewing cars I drive a lot and hated everything after the 159. Bought the Avensis as I figured it would just be a car I'd neither love nor hate.

Ended up loving it. Still don't know why.

BMW i3 and i8. Hated both at the time but now I realise just how far ahead of their time both were. The i8 in particular was a stunning achievement.

I hated lamborghinis due to their brashness and OTT-ness, but now im like f*ck it, if you have the cash, go for it.

Yep starting to see a few around now and they've grown on me. Would need the sport turismo "5 seats"

Anyone think we will grow to love the new bmw grills? I'm not a fan of the 4 series but the x5 has grown on me in last two years. Maybe it's because the others look so ridiculous that it makes the x5 more bearable..

I like the newer mr2. The Mrs

I don't know what's worse the grills or fake exhausts

When it first came out I thought the Mercedes 190 was awful. I now think it's the best engineered car ever built, and I went out of my way to own one.

Fake exhausts been around a while. Mercedes are infamous for it I don't think the beemers are fake? I haven't been looking but they don't seem to be as obvious as the mercs.

Nah I still can't take to them. Everytime I see one it reminds me of a quad bike.

Reminds me of a Honda civic from behind.

Don't think we'll ever like some of the newer grilles, or the styling, interior and whole ethos of the iX, but definitely with regards to their move towards EVs we'll be wondering why they didn't do it sooner in time to come.

They did the i3 and i8 so long ago and then waited until this year to follow it up with another model. Crazy now when you think of it.

I think they i3 and i8s were never meant as serious cars to me they always seemed like concept cars that slipped into production accidently. They have some great aspects to them but just don't sit quiet right on any segment.

We didn’t get it here but the Pontiac Aztec- thought it looked absolutely horrendous at the time and served no purpose. It was 10-15 years too early really. Now everyone is doing similar

Same. Thought they were basket cases- now I absolutely love them. Especially in the right colour and higher spec

Have to say I adored the I8 the moment I saw it. They look even better in the flesh!
The I3 is a bit of an oddball but a very innovative and unique piece of engineering too. Would work best as a second car though.

    Interesting
    Loads of different crossovers now

I could like the i3 if it wasn't for the rear passenger windows.

    🙈🙉🙊

Agreed. It's the one piece of styling that butchers it.
