Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    Anglesey

Dragons trump cats. A strong design, Great colour combo.

Shropshire looks like it has 13 Mr.Potato heads lost on it...

    Anglesey

Dragons are nicer and there is just too much going on in the other flag

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,692 ✭✭✭SineadSpears

    Anglesey less is more

  • Moderators, Recreation & Hobbies Moderators Posts: 16,287 Mod ✭✭✭✭quickbeam

Anglesey - decent enough, whereas Shropshire is just too "busy" looking.

    An absolute whitewash.

    Anglesey advances to Round 2

Cornwall - minimum effort for maximum effect. I like it.

    Essex. Cutlasses!

Essex - I'm going for interesting stuff here, nothing wrong with cornwall but it is a bit boring

Essex - sharp!! Cornwall is plain boring.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,692 ✭✭✭SineadSpears

Cornwall only because when I see anything Essex, I think of that tacky show

    Cornwall

I don't know why but this flag just draws the eyes to it

Essex - cutlasses on red sharp. Cornwall dull.

On boards, Cornwall just looks like 4 black rectangles, so Essex by default.

    Cornwall.
    Striking and classy

For Cornwall, the only way is home.

Sussex for the tweety birds :)

The Channel Islands seem to stick to the same theme so far and all are boring.

Alderney for me, better colour scheme, looks like a wrapped present with it's red ribbon and gold bow :D

    Sussex.
    What QB said, the birds!!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,511 ✭✭✭Purgative

Sussex - doves on blue very pleasing

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,692 ✭✭✭SineadSpears

    Alderney I like that one.

    Sussex

Was born here! Tweety birds are nice

  • Moderators, Sports Moderators Posts: 7,265 Mod ✭✭✭✭cdeb

Neither great. Sussex looks a bit silly, so Alderney.

It has so many pubs that it's been described as 3000 alcoholics clinging to a rock

Sussex like the colours and the triangular formation.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 32,956 ✭✭✭✭Omackeral

A tight affair but we do have a winner.

Caithness for the ship and unusual use of black

  • Moderators, Recreation & Hobbies Moderators Posts: 16,287 Mod ✭✭✭✭quickbeam

I like both of these but going with Lancashire because it's a giant red rose.

    Caithness

It's got a ship! Good colours.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,835 ✭✭✭ari101

Caithness please - nice little boatín with a raven or a crow on it :D But realistically the other one just has too much yellow, if there wasn't a rose on a Lancashire flag the world would be ending ;)

  • Moderators, Sports Moderators Posts: 7,265 Mod ✭✭✭✭cdeb

    Another for Caithness.

Black is underused on flags, and the yellow trim is great with it

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,692 ✭✭✭SineadSpears

    Caitness

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 32,956 ✭✭✭✭Omackeral

Lancashire sinks against the Scottish effort.

    Caithness advances to Round 2

We'll do one more match and that will mark the halfway point of Round 1

    Robin hood!

    Has to be Nottinghamshire

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,189 ✭✭✭Irish Aris

    Nottinghamshire.

    No comparison really.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,786 ✭✭✭KathleenGrant

    Nottinghamshire easily.

Glamorgan looks like a road hazard sign.

Nottinghamshire because it's only bloody got Robin Hood on it!!

And Glamorgan looks like a cross between the Citroen and Bank of Ireland logos.

Jumping on the Robin Hood bandwagon

  • Moderators, Sports Moderators Posts: 7,265 Mod ✭✭✭✭cdeb

    Glamorgan was my first thought

But the more I looked at Nottinghamshire, the better it got. So Robin Hood for me too
