Moving a mobile home

    Hey Guys,

I have a mobile home in my garden which has been static for many years, it predates both me and the previous owner. It is fairly habitable, plumbed kitchen and bathroom, power etc.

So it doesn't seem to be much of a planning concern at the moment, but it is in the way of where I want to build an extension to the main house. Id like to move the mobile home to use as a guest chalet, probably clad the outside too. Am I likely to draw trouble on myself if I move it? its a big plot in a fairly rural area

Will the extension require pp? If so it will be remarked on whether moved or not.
If not I doubt it, in the short term anyway.

Ideally it will not as its going to be at the back of the structure and under 40sqm single storey.

I would just not like to get a surprise in two years time after moving and renovating it to demand its pulled down

It’s worth noting you cannot enjoy the exemptions if already in breach of another planning requirement. In this case, the mobile hone storage.

Guest chalet will not get planning.
