I want to repaint house the same colour as the old paint but I'm not sure how

So I haven't painted my house in about 15 years and I've always liked the colour but the paint has a lot of marks etc on it from wear and tear over the years.

I really want to paint it the same colour but I don't know how to go about it because I've never done house painting before. I assume that if I go to a hardware shop the only thing I can go by is to get a kind of paint swatch chart and compare it to the current colour of my house?

Any advice would be great. Thanks

You could also download the Dulux visualiser app - it has an option to scan surfaces and will provide matching paint names. Might be worth trying in order to narrow down the possibilities.

Aside from taking a hundred swatches and trying to find what was used, there is another option. If you're able to take a small paint chip from somewhere inconspicuous, you can bring this to a good paint supplier, and they can match it up for you using their colour matching tools. Failing that they'll refer to their own swatches to match as closely as possible. You could also pay an interior designer a nominal fee for a call out paint consultation.
