    Hi all,

Passed my test about a month ago and looking to pick up my first car. Been driving a 1.4 diesel Auris, but don't particularly need diesel for work and would rather keep the engine around 1.2 or below.

Budget is max 8000, would prefer 7500 or so. Have been looking at Polos, seems to be an abundance of 2013 1.2 Match editions around. The used prices are also a bit more than I had expected, I thought 8k would have gotten me something closer to six years old.

Just wondering if there's anything else I should be looking at? I plan on buying from a dealer as I don't know anything about cars/have anyone to accompany me to check one over.

You will get a much newer Fiesta for that sort of money:

A Nissan Note 1.2 petrol would be worth considering. You could get a good 2014/5 model with your budget. Opel Corsa similarly. Both are reliable, spacious and reasonably stylish cars.
