Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Excited to hear that Damon Lindelof who created two of my favourite shows; Lost, Leftovers, as well as Watchmen has a new show in the works. It also sounds very like Lost and Leftovers type-drama ...

It is a mystery drama called Mrs. Davis.
Peacock has placed a straight-to-series order for the new ten-episode drama from Lindelof and Young Sheldon writer Tara Hernandez, to be produced by Warner Bros. Television. Hernandez will showrun Mrs. Davis, in addition to co-writing the series with Lindelof; both will executive produce.
However, if you think you’re about to learn what Mrs. Davis is actually about, you clearly need to go back and watch Lost or The Leftovers again. Per the streamer’s press release, “Though plot details are being kept under wraps, Peacock can confirm that the series is an exploration of faith versus technology — an epic battle of biblical and binary proportions.”

Well.. let's see.. indeed a mystery on the imdb page with no more detail:

    https://www.imdb.com/title/tt18949726/

Faith versus technology. Follows an epic battle of biblical and binary proportions.

The women on the cast definitely catch my eye as spy/intrgiue/espionage veterans

Elizabeth Marvel - President in Homeland

Betty Gilpin - In Gaslit, the current show about Watergate

Margo Martindale - Claudia in The Americans

How do the dudes shape up? Anyone credit them for anything?

    Jake McDorman

    David Arquette

    Ben Chaplin

    Andy McQueen

Lindelof sucks. Tom Perrotta is responsible for The Leftovers

Margo Martindale is excellent in everything

Ben Chaplin is a decent actor when given a good script

3 episodes in and really enjoying this. Having similar vibes as to when I watched the Leftovers. Mrs Davis is another quality TV show by Damien Lindelof.

1: That was brilliant! It's so funny and creative. Had vibes of the Legion level of strange in places but takes itself less serious.. but still Betty Gilpin made it serious especially..

    with the horse

Could be good if the episodes are on a similar level.

2: Ah, it just keeps rolling. That was fun and so many twists and turns.

I did like what the cafe places turned out to be. Had me kinda remembering the finale of quantum leap.

3: Ha! I'm pretty sure two thirds of that episode were on the Damned Sword! 😁

Elizabeth Marvel and Katja Herbers added well to this episode.

Mysterious Priest is up to something! Hmmmm, maybe a third side coming into it? So far feels maybe like there's two big side, the AI and maybe the Church/Religion

4: Ha! 🙂 I dunno. Gone a bit into a next level I guess. Still funny though.

So, let me see.. maybe Clara is doing the Indiana Jones thing of drinking from the grail to stay alive.

5: The more all-in this show goes, the funnier I find it 😁 Though there was the moment of 😱

    when Claras head exploded

6: Good episode. A lot going on. I really thought Betty Gilpin did great face acting when

Mrs Davis told her about her Dad.. well whatever she told her.

7: Ah what a great Cameo!

Shohreh Aghdashloo as Mary! Brilliant. Only recently finished the expanse so it felt good to see her again.

I'm guessing Wiley is either dead or thinks he can take out Mrs Davis in some other way.. unless maybe it's down to Simone to ask to keep him alive or something.

Finished the last episode, a wonderful series overall. Absurd at times but that's right up my street. Doesn't seem like it was made with subsequent series in mind which is refreshing these days

Finished! Overall, a funny, absurd, action packed yet I think maybe well thought out show 🙂

8: 😱 That was horrifying what happened to

Wiley.. up to just about the halfway mark. It had almost got me believing he was about to be turned into chicken nuggets or something.

Solid ending I thought. Had a proper mix of emotions

Great to see Ashley Romans again. She was a standout as Agent 355 in Y: The Last Man.

Future: Hmmmm, not so sure. Wiki says: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mrs._Davis

In May 2023, it was reported that there were no plans for a second season.

I thought there might be something kicking off for a second season when the windmill started moving right at the end though

While there, I also noticed it says:

Writers used AI to come up with episode titles.

    The titles were:

1   "Mother of Mercy: The Call of the Horse"

2   "Zwei Sie Piel mit Seitung Sie Wirtschaftung"

3   "A Baby with Wings, a Sad Boy with Wings and a Great Helmet"

4   "Beautiful Things That Come with Madness"

5   "A Great Place to Drink to Gain Control of Your Drink"

6   "Allison Treasures: A Southern California Story"

    7   "Great Gatsby 2001: A Space Odyssey"

8   "The Final Intercut: So I'm Your Horse"
