Lost logbook, can't remember who's name it's in.

Lads I've lost a log book for a car I own, unsure if it was in my name or in the missuses, must have been 6 years ago we last swapped it around...

How do I go about finding out who owns the car so that we can apply for a new book? Tax office? Department of transport?

I imagine if both myself and herself ask independently they'll surely tell whichever one of us owns the car that it's ours?

Do you know the motor tax online pin.

Look for an email. Then log in with the pin. That will show you the registered details.

Ah nice one, thanks for that. I owe you a beer! Took a lot of trial and error since the pin reminders don't tell you any details about the car... but after 10 or so different ones I got there.

Good advantage of having the email notifications to check back on rather than looking for old postal reminders.

The pin stays the same unless a new VRC is issued.
