Spraying Gorse (Whins)

    spray is used to kill gorse (whins) and what is the best time of years to spray? Will spray kill them permanently?

    They are relatively easily killed. Grazon90 is probably the best, roundup will work too.

    Now is perfect time to spray them.

    They are a great biodiversity habitat, we control their spread rather than eliminate them.

    I suspect it's quite illegal to spray or otherwise destroy them right now. Why would you spray something you'll have to physically remove anyway?

    I never had any success spraying gorse. If a big root is established it will come back. Digging out is best option. Keep in mind if they are hedgerow they will have set times for cutting due to birds nesting

    Go to the farming and forestry there is a thread on them with a few weeks you'll get good advice there
