    Hi all,

My mothers dog of 14 years has passed away this evening and we are not sure how to dispose of his body

The dog is a small breed, a papillon.

My mother is under the impression that it is now illegal to bury your dog in the back garden, Is this correct?

If so what should she do with the body ? At the moment she has wrapped him in his favourite blanket and left him in his dog bed

You can bury the dog in the garden as long as it's buried at a certain depth (not sure exactly) and is not near a water source.

I’d recommend cremation to anyone. Not cheap but it’s so very comforting
