5 month old waking at every wet nappy

We have a 5 month old who nearly wakes at every wet nappy. At night this is getting really tiresome and we’re concerned he isn’t getting solid sleep as a result. We’re using pampers baby dry size 3 nappies, has anybody experienced the same type of problem? And what nappies helped?

When you say wet, how full does the nappy seem when you go to change it? Size 3 sounds small for a 5 month old (particularly if hoping for it to last through the night), although all of ours have been big babies :-)

Maybe it's a skin irritation thing, you could maybe try using coconut oil or something to act as a barrier, maybe worth a try...

Is it your first or is this baby acting different to your others? My experience has been that it took to around the 6 month mark before nights became much more manageable and the babies would start to sleep through so I would have thought it was fairly normal behaviour.

Are you sure it's the wet nappy that's waking baby and have ruled out anything else (E.g. too hot or cold, wants a feed, start of teething, wind/reflux)?

Are they leaking out of nappies? As above, maybe try sizing up for night time.

Yes our first baby. Baby can’t bear a wet nappy and wakes unsettled, not wanting to feed. No nappy isn’t leaking but obviously baby is uncomfortable. Will try sizing up and see how it goes

By 5 months we were also onto size 4 pampers baby dry. Is the baby irritable after every wee, even when awake?
If they are maybe get the sample checked for a UTI.

Is the baby waking every 2 hours? Are you sure its just he wet nappy that is waking them? How do they normally settle to sleep?

Do they feed or settle once you change them, is it?
