Has anyone joined the class action claiming damages on behalf of consumers who purchased vehicles with defeat devices in their diesel engines.
I seen a few ads on uk telly for it and did a google search for Ireland. Found two solicitors in Ireland that are taking names.

    Does Irish law facilitate class-actions?

Reading below it appears to be very limited in what it can achieve compared to the likes of the UK and US:

    I'm no solicitor though.

I had though the same, a google search brings up a few application forms for Irish based solicitors but i didn't want to post there names on here.
Just curious that i hadn't heard more about it.

Does this only apply to people who still have the cars in their possession or have sold them since? I presume the earlier.

You'll have to prize my Mk6 from my cold lifeless hands, a great car altogether :pac: i'm holding out for the payout.

Dieselgate didn’t affect resale values in the slightest in Ireland.

But what about the hurt caused to owners who listened to John Gormley, then sought out and bought that clean green machine that was a new diesel to happily drive around without damaging the planet or the people. To then be told that it wasnt as clean as they were told and in fact more damaging to health than the smelly old petrol car they scrapped for environmental reasons, well i figure thats worth thousands in compo.
