Plastic grid shed base, hardcore base or not?

I picked up some plastic grids with the intention of filling them with pebble to serve as a shed base for a 10x4 foot shed I have ordered. The ground is fairly compacted so I thought that would’ve done having done a bit of reading around, but now I’m wondering if I should be putting a base of something like 804 underneath.

Anyone have any experience with these?

The purpose of those plastic grids is to stop the pebbles/gravel (a finishing layer) moving around, typically on a trafficked surface. That's why they're called gravel stabilising grids.

They don't provide any actual structural support, that comes from what's underneath.

Does that matter? Don't know. Depends on the shed and what you're using it for.

I wouldn't be in a rush to be putting down 804. It doesn't drain very well.

    Thanks for the replies.

It’s a steel Adman no it’s ore going close up against a boundary fence. Wind not an issue, very sheltered area. Will used to store bikes, mower, paint tools etc, not a massive load I’d imagine.
