My son has had a rash a few times a day for a few minutes. Face, legs, chest and back . Some times after food and some times after pressure on the skin. We have peeled back his diet to steamed Veg, Chicken and fish. Etc. (Non-allergy foods)

When he scratches the skin bubbles up for a few mins and with cold compress goes away. Doctor say come back after a few weeks if still there.

Strange thing is energy level and health over all is good.

Anyone got an idea where to go. If you google rash etc the info is could be anything and 50% of the issue are never diagnosed.

    Thanks in advance.

Your GP would be a good starting point. They will refer to a specialist if necessary

GP has checked already. Antihistamine and come back in a few weeks. Good starting point maybe have time to work out what is wrong of course not.

The lists of possibilities for rashes are endless. Allergy, Virus, infection, underlining condition and on and on.

If I can start ruling out things 1 at a time I could some day get him better.

How long has it been happening? Did it start gradually and get worse, or suddenly out of nowhere?

Started 1 day and got worse so we believe an allergy. Changed diet which helped a little but without a full allergy test hard to know. Close to 8 weeks now happening now. Going to the Doctor for the 2nd time on Monday but would like to have some suggestions ready for him. Hard to see him so long with it. He has good and bad days which was hopeful it would disappear. But no luck :(

Maybe make diet as simple as possible for a few days, no processed foods at all. Look at medications, vitamins or anything else taken as well.

I'd also look at things like detergent used on sheets. Some can be sensitive to perfumes and chemicals used by some of them. Anything else like that - soap, air freshener, cleaning products.

If it started out of nowhere 8 weeks ago I'd look at what changed then, such as new things on the shopping list.

Good advice. We have blamed almost everything in the place at this stage. Fruit, soap, cold weather, Bread, wheat, virus (covid or another) parasites and bacteria.

My wife is not taking the last week well and I am worried about her now too. The stress of a doctors visit also to deal with. Ruling out something worse which I have not listed would help us believe it will get better some day.

Sounds like urticaria. 90% of the time no cause is found and it burns out by itself after a few months.

It took 2 months but we have it down to just some rash now and then and the itching is all but gone. Thanks for the in put all :)
