Seeing as I'm getting a pard 007 and a new hmr I'd like to know how people are adding extra ir lights to their setups. What brackets they're using to attach lights to rifle or scope. And is an extra light needed for the distance they generally shoot.
Also are people spotting with red, green or white light then going to NV when they see eyes.Picture of set ups would be great also.

Anything remotely usable for €50-60 or at that price are you only buying dirt.

If you are looking for an illuminator for a pard 007, a laser illuminator will get the best out of it. The Solaris srx, situs xtl and pbir L are the job. Basic ir lamps can't compete with the clarity you get with a laser illuminator.

The pard in built ir really good to about 150m. After that it's too faint and a laser illuminator really comes into its own.

My scope has a small picatinny rail on the left side and I have been fitting my IR torch using a 25mm scope ring. This was good for the .22LR but I find I'm not getting the range I desire for my center fire.

My solution, on advise from members here, was to buy a scope tube mounted picatinny rail and an adjustable scope mount:

I originally used the external torch to extend the life of the on board battery pack as it was just for bunnies at max 75'ish yards.
The new laser illuminator will be for extending the range and better detail

Still finding my feet here but I have a cheep NV spotter paired with an external IR torch that I use along with a red LED torch.

Is a laser overkill on a hmr and more suitable centerfire rifles?.I see loads of ir led lights at reasonable prices but wonder if the inbuilt one is probably better.Bellow is a link to a small laser, would that be any good.

I would advise that you hold fire on getting an external IR until you get the Pard and play around with it a bit.
The IR on the Pard is quite good and should be adequate for the HMR.
You can focus it quite a bit too, but you will lose field of view as you increase the distance.
The Black Sun receives great reviews and is also one of the safer lasers, so you could consider that lamp if you feel that the Pard is not giving you enough range.

The likes of Sirius, Solaris, PBIRL etc, take it to a new level entirely though out to 400m all day long, and much further if the conditions are favourable.

Probably right, between new rifle and pard I'm like a child waiting for Christmas day to have a poke and play with everything, and as they say sometimes less is more.

BTW, If you haven't purchased already, I've heard the 007 are coming down in price due to a newer version poised to release.

As far as IR, the 3rd gen (SXR I think it's called) solaris with dimmer switch are (in my opinion), good for every distance.
To go from full to spot is less than a full rotation and combined with the different power levels, you can do almost everything from rat to rabbit distance to Fox.

I haven't tested any other lasers, so cannot compare them.

I would hold off with the extra illuminator for now. The pard illuminator is good. If I'm shooting no further than 150m with the 223 I don't bother with the Solaris srx laser because it's just extra unnecessary weight.

My opinion is if you are shooting beyond 150m and are willing to add the additional weight of an illuminator, go for a laser based one. Otherwise use the pard in built ir.

That torch you have highlighted is a very good one. Ok, 850nm so not as covert as a 940nm. Great value.
