NCT fail advanced corrosion nearside rear brake line

    Car had the NCT last night, failed on the rear nearside brake line being corroded. I had a quick look at the NCT centre but to me it just looks like surface rust. I may be wrong, I'm going to try clean it up with some penetrating fluid and a wire brush, anyone had success just cleaning them and getting to pass, if it looks alright after I work on it I'll put some rust protection. I'll upload a photo when I can, the offside looks similar but that didn't fail, and the rear brake imbalance was 3% so way off the 30% and above for a fail.

    Yeah, give it a go with a wire brush.
    Worst case, buy new ones.

    Yeah no joy, upon closer inspection there's some flaking, no lines it is
