Cleaning restoring slabs

Out the back we have pavement and slabs that need restoration. We are looking at getting extension so don't want to landscape garden yet. Just looking for something short term to brighten it up.

Previous owner painted it and now grass, moss etc appearing and gaps. Even hosing it and paint comes up.

So got some paving sand to brush into the gaps.

What's the best steps to start the process. Is it wash them down and wait to dry. Empty sand over slabs and brush into the gaps. Wait a few days before painting with a roller.

No diy'er so googling YT but so many videos.

Also what's best paint to use on slabs and concrete

    Cheers

I'd recommend don't ever paint external flooring or paving or any kind. It's a shorter than short term and always looks really crap.

Get a loan or rent a decent pressure washer and take it up. Good idea to use a moss remover prior to that. I've used bio washing powder and bleach before in a sprayer to good effect.

Agreed but it's only short term.. Summer as we will be taking them up when we plan to get extension hopefully early next year.

Have a power washer but it just lifts up the existing sand and paint.

So just want to brighten them up for short short term.

We've cleaned up the grass and plants but pavement just ruins it looking at it.
