Spiral is one of the best crime series I have ever seen. Exciting, unpredictable and you really care about the characters. It is French subtitles but do not let that put you off. I was so depressed after it ended. Brilliant

It doesn't appear on any of the streaming services and a cursory look didn't reveal it on the high seas either. It looks interesting.

I have just finished the 5th season of the French spy drama The Bureau.

Best drama I have watched in a long time.

Next up, The Break, a Belgian drama on Netflix...then Spiral....

The Shield is fantastic, some of the finest TV I've seen. I think it's all up on the RTE player. I think 4OD have it as well. I loved the US version of The Killing too. That's on Disney Plus.

If you have these channels and are ok with subtitles, keep an eye on these timeslots for crime & detective series.

Friday night 9pm on More 4 (will also be on All4)

    Saturday night 9pm on BBC4

Tuesday nights at 8pm on TV5 Monde Europe
Wednesday evenings at 6pm on TV5 Monde Europe

    * TV5 is a french language channel available on some Virgin Media packages.

Where are people watching the bridge?

It was on BBC so some of us would have recorded it, if you're in the 26 counties I am not aware of any legal means to access it via internet

So, last night I finished Bron/Broen (The Bridge) - woooooowwww... wow wow wow.. I have no words.. the final episode was like a fine work of Art - thats the only way I can describe it.

    But what to watch next?
Is the American version any good?

Have watched a loved Line of Duty, Unforgotten, Prime Suspect, Happy Valley, Unbelievable..

Did not like, Luther, Marcella, The Fall, True Detective, The Wire, Bodyguard...

(Hate when you reach the end of a series you enjoy.. the benchmark is v high now).

Would appreciate recommendations based on the above.
    TIA

Folks, tried watching The Killing (Forbrydelsen) and have given up - not my cuppa - too slow.. miss the detective team style that they used in Bron/Broen etc.. so keeping this in mind and my initial post (above) any tighter suggestions? Also, watched Cracker recently - adored it.
    TIA

Rocco Schiavone (Ice Cold Murders), an Italian series on More 4 friday nights or repeated online on All 4 is diverting. Each murder mystery is wrapped up after 90 minutes so you can just check out the first one as a pilot.

If you can figure out the means to getting BBC iPlayer to work for you all of the episodes are available there. https://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b03bnc34

Alternatively if you check the BBC schedule in August you may find it rescheduled for broadcast again. In 2019 and 2020 the entire series was broadcast on Saturday nights in blocks of 3/4 episodes from 9pm beginning in mid August and finishing in early December.
