They possibly could have manually disarmed the girl eventually but she quite possibly could have inflicted a fatal wound on the pink girl before they got to her.


At 5 seconds the man is throwing the other person (girl/woman) onto the ground (just before kicking her in the face at 8 seconds). At 7 seconds the shot girl is rounding the girl on the ground and lunging at pink girl. At 8 seconds we see the knife being swung through the air and at 9 seconds the first shot is fired.

Yeah, he should have just paused time, caught up to her, removed the knife from her hand and replaced it with a feather duster, then set time going again. The confusion alone from the feather duster would have de-escalated the situation. They could have set up a campfire then and sat around singing Kumbaya.

I don't see anything wrong with the cop's actions here. He shot a woman who was about to stab or slash another. The bodycam footage of this was released pretty quickly too and that tells its own story.

She's spot on. In the US, if you're a straight white male (you must meet all the above criteria) you can stab people and it's fine. Cops will never[\b] shoot you if you are in the process of swinging a knife at your victim. But when a black person does it - the cop shoots them to save the life of the (also black) victim. Lads, Student was being sarcastic to the point of trolling.

Immediate threat to victims, the cop was doing the job he was trained to do. concerned always about live fire with bystanders in the line of fire. There is almost as much risk of lethal crossfire as there is of the suspect slashing someone else.

Wonder what type of call out this was though, ie. Mental health or ‘omg someone is going to kill me.’

There have, a lot of cases.

Look up the link I mentioned earlier, "Crazy Florida Woman attacks Police".

Woman attacks cops, injures one of them, she is shot. She tries to get up and attack again, she is shot multiple times. Then shot again.
