changing bedroom fitted wardrobes from 70's

    Hi all,

I am selling my apartment. Its very old built in the 70s. I have put in a cash n carry kitchen and new bathroom. The only thing left to change its the awful fitted wardrobes in the main bedroom.

I was wondering if it is possible to take just the whole front off the wardrobes, leaving the storage behind, and get sliding doors, or paneled doors to put in its place. My question is has anyone done this? was it expensive, did you get a carpenter to do it? or should i pull out the lot, and put in stand alone wardrobes.

So basically I am looking to replace these wardrobes but VERY VERY CHEAPLY just to update and modernize it.

    Thanks guys

If you are selling, just remove the doors, leave open.

Otherwise Ikea sliders will go onto most with a bit of ingenuity.

Leave as is, new buyer will likely gut the place.

Could you paint the existing doors? A coat of Bloxx-it and a couple of coats of satinwood would make all the difference, even to laminate doors.

Leave as is rather than do a cheap fix.
Do it right or not at all

I'd just take off the doors and paint the shelves.
