I inherited a patio with the house and some of the edging blocks were loose.

What’s the best way to repair these?

Do I need to take the solid ones out and reset the whole lot or can I fill the gaps?

Ideally, break out the old concrete they were set on and set them on a new mix. A mix of plastering sand and cement not too wet will work. Check are any others loose. A good clean and regrout patio would make a big difference too.

    Thanks for the reply

Yeah planning to re grout after I fix the edge. Power hosed it yesterday to get the grime off

Would I need to break the old concrete out completely ie down to the ground?

Will the new concrete bind ok with the concrete on the solid sections?

    Yes, will be easy enough

Yes , use plastering sand mix 4:1, not too wet, but not too dry either. Bed in setts on this mix and you should be good to go. Add in a haunch also.
