WTD: S or XS road bike

Looking to get my daughter interested (reinterested) in cycling.

1.55 m, so looking at at XS or an S at a push in something like a Liv Avail. Not sure if mens sizes cater for that height?

Whole bike not necessary, frameset (rim brake) would be perfect - I love a project.

Something pretty basic, keeping to a 300 / 400 budget.

    G'co

I don't know if this would be any good to you but I have a 48cm version of the first frame in this post. Problem is it takes 650b wheels, not 700c! I have an alloy fork on it with v-brake mounts but it'll take long reach calipers too. Rear has no mounts so only calipers. Same as the second bike in that post. I built it up years ago but it's never even left the garage and over time I've cannibalised most of the parts off it. So frame, forks, headset, sq. taper BB are all brand new but a bit dirty from being in the garage. I'd probably want about €100 for it but I'm flexible! I don't think I'm ever going to use it!

probably would be an XXS in mens; i'm about 171 or 172cm and typically rate an S in mens bikes, she'd be at least two sizes smaller so probably hard to find one that's not women specific.

    Thanks Paul,

    Hope all is well?

Will stick with 700c wheels I think (given that there are too many pairs in the attic...)

    Regards,

Hi G., No problem. I reckoned as much. TBH when I bought it I assumed it was 700c and got a shock when I tried to put the wheels on! The second bike in the post I referenced is also a Vitus Stag 48 and it took 700c wheels so it just happened that the red 48cm were 650b and the grey ones were 700c!

All well thanks. I'll be putting my Principia up for sale here soon if you know anyone interested;). Can't hack the racing geometry bikes anymore, need more comfort!
