Is there any confirmed scientific explanation as to why a half eaten large chocoate Easter egg can no longer be fully covered by the silver paper that covered it in the first place?

Because you have increased the surface area. Previously you didn't have to cover the inside surface with foil.

Your also ate half the tinfoil without realising it.

It's the same science that applies when you take a new powertool or similar out of the box that it is impossible to get it back in the same
