Does anybody know what is happening with the land? Fencing went up around it in the last few months and it looks like a a path is now going through it. I checked the fingal website but couldn't see much but didn't know where to look. All I could find was that it's zoned residential. I always thought it would be more houses but the path is giving me hope for a play area like the one near swords manor.

I don’t think that application is for that piece of land. That land has archaeological significance as is a burial ground, hence the cross. I think that application is the bit of land that the site office was on just past Swords Educate Together when the Rathbeale Road works were being carried out. Also the objections are from Ravenswood, Belleview House and Belleview Cottage which are all past SETNS on the Rathbeale Road so would not be over looked if the construction was on the land between the Gael Scoil and Bunbury Gate. The objection was based on being over looked

I don't see why they built a path, what looks like all the way through it, if it's going to be dug up for houses. Granted I haven't gone to close to inspect but it wasn't a small job putting it down.

Gotcha, so I was looking at the wrong application.

But is the land in question not supposed to be Rathbeale Archeological Park?

Yes. it's an Archeological Park. Presume the current fencing is for the landscaping works. Planning was applied for along with Millers Glen back in 2011 (Planning Ref F11A/0436) and was extended until Oct 2022. So I guess they are getting works underway now before the deadline.
