Anyone here planning on Chicago ? Got optimistic and booked hotel a few weeks ago. Vaccination seems to be moving at pace over there and they're talking about everyone getting their jabs by early summer. Is it likely to go ahead?

Have it and our AirBnB carried over from last year. No flights booked yet though.

They are still saying it's going ahead so fingers crossed. Vaccinations seem to be going well there but heaven knows when I'll be vaccinated as I'm last on the current list. Be interesting to see how it all pans out with foreign travel for it and Boston/NY. NY not announcing for definite until May I hear.

I read last night the they don't recognise the Astra Zeneca vaccine over there and so they may not count it as a full vaccination. Not at present but hopefully they'll add it to their list later in summer. Will definitely affect me if this is true

It doesn't matter whether you are vaccinated or not - entry to the US (at the moment) is conditional on a recent negative covid test (within three days) or evidence of having recovered from covid within 90 days of travel. There is no special status attributed to specific vaccines. Details here:

I have a Chicago entry deferred from 2020 but won't consider taking it up until 2022 at the earliest.
