    Hi All ,

I'm currently in the market for a new car and have spotted one I may be interested in with is more a less what I would be ordering from the factory bar one extra that it doesn't have that I could compromise on...

The car is a pre reg to a garage 211 with 20kms on the clock , the dealer has irt advertised at 37.5 and said they would do 36.5k - the same car costs 38.5k if I was to order it in that spec from factory , with delivery times extending I'm considering it.

However , working the numbers the APR is higher at 5.9% on this one as it's pre reg and I'll have that ' second owner' issue, if a deal is to be done I'd imagine i'd want to ask for a lower price. Car still comes with servicing plan , warranty and was registered in Feb. It's a Cupra.

My first time buying a new car so I'm green in this field and don't want to be taken for a spin, thanks all.

20k kms in 3 months during a lockdown, is that right, or is it 2k?

Sometimes its almost cheaper to buy the new car if you are going with PCP as the rates are cheaper, 5.9% would not be considered great for a new car. We bought an Ateca FR last year on 0%.

I'd say hooch he means it has twenty km rather than 20k km.

OP, how much discount where you getting off the brand new car car? What is the APR on the brand new car? There is going to a bit of firmness on the selling price of the pre reg as the dealer knows that it's going to be very difficult for a buyer to get a brand new car delivered within a reasonable time frame. Plus the finance package on a brand new car will be more attractive as the manufacturer is probably giving an incentive to sell a new car.

Thanks , yes the mileage is only 20 kilometers so it's barely moved. The APR on a brand new model is 2.9% , it is on PCP and they've not offered a discount on the new one if it's factory offered just the standard warranty , servicing pack etc..said they can't budge on the factory price.

Traditionally Seat offer big discounts compared to Skoda and VW just to move stock.
    Is Cupra different?

Use some online calculator to see what you'd end up paying on interest over a few years at 5.9% compared to the interest rate applied if buying new. Chances are any saving on the pre reg could very well be wiped out.
