Not strictly a DIY query but can anyone recommend a garden heater?

Probably looking for something on a pole or else wall mounted, and it seems electric seems to be the way to go?

I was thinking along the lines of...
    https://www.markettown.ie/product/2000w-quartz-patio-heater/

It seems this type could be wall mounted and easily removed to be put away when not in use as the IP rating of any of them doesnt seem to lend itself to being permanently outdoors. But are they any good is the million dollar question??!!

I got this one from Germany last week, its a 3 bar electric fire on a stick!
    The cable is short

Outdoor heaters work by radiation, and the heat drops off with the square of the distance from the heater. You can think of them as heating a ever expanding sphere - if you're 3m away then a 2000W heater is going to be shining something like 50W/sqm on you (not a simple calculation due to the shaped reflector). Bright sunlight is an order of magnitude hotter.

In other words, you need to be sitting quite close to it if it's to have any effect.

Consequently, I'd try to find a tabletop heater, cos then you can at least sit sociably around something that has a hope of keeping you warm.

Bought this one last year for my car port / gym thingy.
IP34 rated but ours is under the roof in any event. Main attraction was the 3 heat settings and comes with remote control.

Try CEF, stores nationwide. (City Electrical Factors)

That's a great list. Probably better to get an IP65 rather than IP34/44/54, as that's the difference between protection against splashes and jetted water, unless it's under a canopy of some sort.

    Thanks for the input all...

I pulled the trigger on this:

    https://www.blumfeldt.de/Feuerstellen-Heizgeraete/Heizstrahler/Loras-Infrarot-Heizstrahler-Carbon-Heizspiralen-2100W-IP44.html?force_sid=aea6gj66s16evbk86kjm9rgur5

They dont deliver directly to Ireland so had to send it through a parcel redirect service.... should be fine... I hope :o
Might take a couple of weeks but im happy with the choice, see how I get on once recieved.

Took a bit of a punt on them but reviews etc seem fine might be waiting a couple of weeks for it to come through also wasn't clear on how to pay for it.. but reckon it will sort itself out... they'll prob contact me when it needs paying for .. hard for me to pay in advance when I dont know what weight and size it is.
