Bare lawn

    Hi all

I had a lawn done on a new build mid-summer 2019. In some patches I can still see the earth underneath. It hasn’t really thickened up and isn’t very green in other places. In other patches its fine. Also, I have a share of docks and thistles.

If I keep cutting, I assume the docks and thistles will die away eventually as long as I don’t let them go to seed?
How do I get the grass to come on in the bare patches? fertilizer? More seed? Is there a combo fertilizer and weed killer that someone would recommend?

    Thanks

    Frogeye
