Lidl have a load of cordless tools on promotion this Thursday 1st April. I have a quick question.
I have other brand cordless tools so are battery's interchangeable? Do I need to get the battery and charger too when buying any of the cordless tools?

Yes, you will need to get the batteries and charger. I'd also suggest getting the 4ah instead of the 2ah for any of the tools requiring significant power such as the circular saw.

You'd need the charger and battery best off having minimum of two batteries preferably three

I was looking at picking up a more powerful SDS drill to go with my 18v Cordless combi-drill. It's only for the odd bit of DIY so the Parkside etc brand is fine.

    I see Lidl have both:
    1. A Hammer Drill with Chisel mode
    2. A 2-speed Hammer Drill

My question is would Option #1 be able to do everything that Option #2 can do and more? Or would it be a bit more of a demolition type tool?

option one to complement your combi drill.
I'd say its good for drilling but too light for any real demo work.

Option 1 for me. Light chiseling is always a good addition to have.

I've been using option 2 for the last few weeks (borrowed) and find it brilliant for drilling concrete blocks walls. Dont anticipate a need for chiselling but for the extra €30 for the first option you do get a set of accessories plus a bigger drill so more bang for your buck.

I got the cordless chainsaw.....am delighted with it. Was v sceptical at first.....like ' cordless' and chainsaw in the one sentence just doesn't seem right. Am v impressed with it....gave it a good workout last weekend....batteries lasted a full 40minutes of cutting... thats using the 2 X 4A batteries. Including the batteries its a very manageable 5KG in total. I have 3 petrol saws but have to say I'm well chuffed with this purchase...obviously not for heavy work/ thick trunks but ideal for handy/light work. The saw was €89, the 4A batteries were €30 each & the very speedy double charger was €25 but the batteries are interchangeable with future products

Quick query on the sander if anyone might know...

Are replacement sanding sheets easy to pickup are these a standard size that woodies/B&Q would have?

In my experience they are almost universal.
the dust extract holes might not line up but the shapes the same.

2nd one isn't SDS. Non-SDS "hammer action" drills aren't worth a feck really. Difference is only €20.

In Cavan there was a great fire / Judge McCarthy was sent to inquire / It would be a shame / If the nuns were to blame / So it had to be caused by a wire.

Defo the first one if you already have a cordless drill. I have a mains SDS from Lidl and it will go through anything and the chisel option is also useful (I've used it to flatten out pebbledash before drilling a hole through it).

I was in Lidl Walkinstown last Wednesday. There was one power washer extendable lance left , perfect for a job I have in mind,(cleaning the eaves of the house without having to get up on a ladder). I took it home , but whilst taking it out of the box, I realised the box had already been opened. Long story short, there were vital bits missing. I took it back and had my money refunded on the spot.
I have since visited eleven different Lidls and no one has any left. There’s the actual power washer itself in a few branches, but no extendable lances.
Did any of you guys see these in the last few days in any Lidl branch in the Dublin area ??
