Dont know if this is the correct forum but here goes.
You know when someone posts a question about a problem they are having in some area . Can be a multitude of things but.
    Stuff like
My central heatings not working .
My bike is making a strange noise .
My builder has done this is it ok .
My neighbours are noisy what should I do .

Most posters then try to offer advice and help ( often humorous ) but all in good faith however the post often ends up without any obvious resolution .
It would be good to find out how the problem was sorted or was your advice of any assistance .
What I am suggesting in a roundabout way is that if we ask for help we should try to let people know how the story ends.
    Maybe im just too nosy.
( Im off now to check all my previous posts ;))

Yes, people should follow up a question with the solution when it is found, particularly when it comes to tech and the likes where other people could have the exact same problem.

I usually would post to report how something ended but n00bs who usually post this type of thread tend to find this site by googling and then view it as a well of endless free advice

    In other news.

Global trade has resumed and the 10mm washer you needed but was stuck in the Suez canal is now on the way to you.

    Your welcome :D

I always try and reply to any question I have if I come up with a solution. I'm fairly sure there are a few threads I've started with only one poster ME. If I find a fix I post a reply and sometimes no one else has :o

Some threads where there are opposing views on the best solution are really annoying when the OP disappears without saying how they got on.

Wake me up when it's all over.

Sorry for not getting back to you on these.
My central heatings not working .

I put on all my jumpers.
My bike is making a strange noise .

So it wasn't actually my bike making the strange noise, it was the old woman I hit and was dragging along. After a few miles, her handbag strap snapped, and the noise went away.
My builder has done this is it ok .

Turns out he wasn't a builder at all, and it fell down. Although it was made of cake, so it didn't do any damage. I'm still looking for a builder, but I can recommend a very ambitious baker.
My neighbours are noisy what should I do.

I called in to ask them to keep it down. The guy didn't appreciate it at all, and gave me an almighty clatter in the head, bursting both my eardrums. Haven't heard a peep out of them since.

Have we had any resolution on this issue?

Not as bad as chancing upon a question to which you happen to definitely know the answer, spend 10 minute of your life you're never getting back typing it all out, and then ......... nothing, no reply, no thanks, nothing.

Why do people post requests for help with DIY or other problems, accompanied by long-winded descriptions of the problem but not one photo (a picture paints a thousand words), or if a picture is included it's usually out of focus/ too close up/ no context? A new user who is unable to attach photos I understand, but this is not always the case...
