Wiring a dashcam

So I was hard wiring a dash cam earlier and noticed on the fuse board, there is a vacant switched fuse slot.
I put in a piggy back fuse adapter and it worked fine.

Thinking now, it appears to be a slot for a non fitted extra. Now I have energised that slot, could there be an issue?

Nope, it's only giving your dash cam the supply, you could piggy of another in use too.

Should be no issue. Which extra was it?

Is it a switched live or permanent live ? If it’s permanent, your camera will stay on but you will have car battery issues. I usually go to either usb, cigarette lighter or rear window wiper fuse as they are normally switched live.

Edit: I see you said switched. Happy days.

Yep, switched live. Goes dead 30 seconds after ignition off. Online guides say that is for rear parking sensors but it doesn't have any.
Was quite pleased with myself how neat it was but doubt set in since, hence this thread. Thanks folks.
