    Hi,

I have a bedroom upstairs in a dormer bungalow with no air vent. It gets very stuffy up there and a lot of condensation.

Would type of air vent could I get installed? Some type of mushroom vent in the roof? This would be different to the usual core drill in wall. Know of anyone who specialises in this?

    Thanks

Hi - yes I do but it is not like you posted with window coming out, more like a velux window built into roof, if that makes sense.

    Thanks

Does the velux window have a vent on the top where you pull the handle down slightly, it's just before you open the window. Maybe share a photo of your velux window

    as above

most "velux" rooflight type have a built in vent which is opened when the handle is flicked through 45deg

Thank you, you are right! We are not in the house long and thought that handle was just to open the window itself, not to open a vent (facepalm!)

One other question on air vents. In the downstairs bedroom we plan to have wardrobes installed but this will mean covering the existing vent (your typical wall vent). We will need a new vent installed, probably between the two bedroom windows and the old one sealed.

I read that the wall vents are often strategically placed in rooms for a specific reason. Any advice with this and any recommendations in the greater Leinster/Kildare area who would do this?

I know it would need a core drill but from calling a few places not many willing to do such a small job.

You could 90 degree wall vent up into ceiling and drop it back down at front of wardrobes with a vent cover, providing the joists are running the same way. Joiner can easily modify wardrobe
    To cover ducting.
