Hot Stuff Restaurant Franchise

    Afternoon folks,

Just wondering does anyone remember this fast food chain from the 1990s? I think he is better known for his TV appearances now, but this particular franchise was the brainchild of homegrown real-estate developer David Dwight.

I think it was here that I first had curry in a little Styrofoam carton (having always had it poured over the top of the chips until this moment) and I remember the blobby bits and the steam rising off the carton through the little pin-hole in the lid, and there was iconic American portraiture on the wall, of James Deane, Madonna's dress being blown up by a gust of wind, ford mustangs, the Wrigley's commuter etc. The outlets had an ebullient vibe for times, I remember looking through the window on a winter's evening and it looking cosier than what I was used to. The seats were spongy and soft and comfortable with faux-leather

Also, I think the restaurants tended to have 'juke boxes', perfect for American 'diner-style' date-nites or trip to the movies - things we all take for granted now.

I would have thought that the future for this chain looked propitious as it had a touch of class that was lacking from most places in those darker days, but alas it wasn't to be.

Never heard of it, but a quick Google tells me that you mean Dave Dwyer, from the Ramen Asian street food chain. I heard a branch is supposed to be opening in my town soon (Ramen, not Hot stuff).
