I’m going to build a patio in the near future. About 7m by 3-4m.
The first 1.5m will be where the concrete path is at the rear of the house. Is it ok to leave this ? Just dig out beside it pack with hardcore and cover the path with done
Compress it down leaving a slight slope , cover with sand and then lay the slabs.
What are peoples views on concreting down to he slabs. Seems to be mixed views.

Finally, How do I find out what level the DPC is in the house? I don’t want to raise the patio above it.

Was toying with exactly the same idea recently but concluded it was too messy with the path/drains close to house and possible damp with patio up against the house wall.

Going to build a deck later in the year.

I would have thought this kind of detail is what you're after (linear/channel drain).

I’d slope away from the house so the drain would not be needed and look odd. Also i believe splash back is an issue.
