After the tragic death of Sarah Everard once again the vulnerability of women to attack from male predators has been highlighted.

Firstly if you are a woman the chances of being attacked or raped or kidnapped and murdered by a stranger are very slim.
It's something you should think about but it should not make you unable to live your life.

If you are fearful of being attacked you should overcome your fears by learning how to defend yourself by learning practically valuable martial art systems such as Krav Maga, Karate, Judo or MMA and of course boxing as well as getting generally physically fit - doing strength building exercises which will help in a fight and especially running.

If you can run away then run away. Fighting is useful when you are cornered or someone is trying to hurt you and take you away.

If you believe you are being followed or about to be attacked the best tactic is to run and scream for help. If you are attacked and you fight off your attacker run away and scream for help.

Do not use keys as a weapon - putting your keys between your fingers will be more likely to injure your own hand and without training in throwing a punch at a man's eyes or groin or other vulnerable how do you expect to do the same with keys?
Use your keys for what they are designed for - getting into your car starting the engine and driving away or opening your house door and locking it.
If you lose them in a struggle you won't be able to open your car or your house door will you?


Do not depend on miracle moves such biting or sticking your fingers in your opponents eyes or kicking him in the testicles.
Instead simply learn how to fight.
Using fists strikes kicks elbows knees breaking holds applying holds grappling rolling etc is far more reliable than depending on some move you saw in a silly movie.

Walking alone at night in areas that are not safe is foolish. Hastags and internet campaigns and demands in the media that men respect women are not going to stop predators from opportunistically attacking women walking alone at night.
That's just reality.

Women should go in pairs or in groups and watch out for each other and make sure each other are safe and not left alone to walk home.

If women think they are being followed and there are men nearby they can ask for help. A predator does not want a witness and does not want to have to fight with a grown man. The average man is far stronger than the majority of women and most men will willingly defend unknown women from danger.

That's not going to stop.
There are very few bad men and those few bad men hang around in dark places at night to pounce on women walking alone who don't how to defend themselves.
It shouldn't be like that but it is like that.
