Has anyone stayed in the Vila Galé Cerro Alagoa hotel, how would you rate it?

Thanks but I was hoping for something near the Old Town and closer to a beach

Cerro Mar Garden is where stayed last time , lovely hotel and cheap all inclusive. Very clean . Only problem is its up a bit , so plenty of steps that lead you right into the old town. €3 for a taxi from old town and they have shuttle bus every hour.
Our second time in albufeira and we won’t be back , 5 years back it was lovely and quiet and perfect for the kids the most recent visit the old town was full of stag and hen parties and found it rough enough. Gone a lot more expensive. It’s sad to see the old town being over run with all the tacky bars , strip clubs and souvenir shops .

Found the same. Was there for a wedding 10 years ago and loved in. Returned 4 years ago and found it had gone quite rough.

I stayed in it 3 years ago, end of April/early May. It’s a nice complex and an upper mid range hotel with good facilities situated mid way between the strip and the old town. An aunt of mine stayed there that Christmas and found it very quit, both the hotel and Albufeira. It seemed to have a lot of Irish/Northern Irish. The latter in particular were a bit of the bucket/spade/20 pints type. This was at a time when hotel was fairly empty but they were noticeable.

Must be the "themed" British pub that attracts them!!
