Hope to make a few bob for the CH kitty today.

12.20 Wolverhampton, Steelriver. Around 2/1. I've backed the horse to win. Horse is a course specialist and been hitting the bar of late. Age is a factor but not a great race. Looks fit and loves the course. I hope it will win today.

TQ VIEW 'Best Bet': 2.25 Sandown: NATURAL HISTORY - Gary's former Royal runner got off the mark over hurdles last time at Plumpton and despite a 16lb rise in the ratings, looks an improving sort. Clearly likes the better ground last time so a dry afternoon at Sandown will be a plus, with his proven flat speed likely to be his biggest weapon.

TQ VIEW 'Each-Way': 12.55 Wolverhampton: TORO DORADO (e/w) - Ed's 5 year-old ran well to be a close third at Lingfield last time out and is only up a pound for that. Decent AW form overall and is a proven CD winner here. Luke Morris has also won on the horse in the past before and another bold bid looks on the cards.

Toro Dorado runs in the 12.55pm at Lingfield over 1m2f. He ran a very good race last start and was a touch unlucky not to get his head in front. He has come out of this race in good order and this looks the logical next option for him. The one to beat in my opinion is the Mark Loughnane trained Starfighter who has some good form and Mark's horses are in great order at the moment. Toro has drawn seven and Luke Morris takes the ride.

With the non-runners in the race or not - looks my standout runner on the day in terms of a winner. Only three others to beat now at the time of writing and a hurdler going the right way. Won well again here last time out in similar conditions and with just two runs over hurdles should have much more to come. Also had a nice break since that last win and seems to have come on at home since. Probably have the O'Brien horse to fear most, but we'd be disappointed if he can't take this.

    DEC Odds: 12.5 (Betfair Exc)
After finishing second on debut Ocean Drifter won his next two races thereby qualifying for this race. I deliberately saved him for it and took the chance to give him a break with Chris and Clairey Bonney who run a pre-training yard nearby and do such a great job with all our youngsters. He's come back in great shape and we're looking forward to the run. Super competitive, but a nice horse that is improving all the time. Each-way.

Ran in that voided race at Plumpton last time - yet to win a race but been close several times with 4 seconds or thirds over hurdles. Competitive race but in this higher grade we get in with a fair racing weight. Should have another each-way chance, but as I say, a race with many chances.

    14:17, Hereford
    DEC Odds: 290 (Betfair Exc)
Although only sixth at Uttoxeter I was happy enough with Bringthehousedown as he has been difficult to train. He has big flat feet and they have needed constant attention from our farrier Ben Wishart. He's got on top of him now but the horse is still quite backward and will only be competitive once he gets a handicap mark and can run against his own class.

    DEC Odds: 4.3 (Betfair Exc)
Former decent flat horse that has done well since coming to us and switching to hurdles. Liked the better ground at Plumpton last time to get off the mark at the third try over the sticks and hopefully he can kick on now. Up a hefty 16lbs in the rating for that and into this much better race, but his proven flat speed will be a big asset and we get in here still with a nice racing weight (10-12). Been well supported all week and easy to see why. His inexperience over hurdles is the only slight negative and in a race like this will need to settle a bit better, but a lovely horse that is hopefully the one to beat. He'd probably not want any more rain to be at his best - so the drying conditions (if that's how the afternoon pans out) will help.

    Juan Les Pins
    Sat 13th Mar 2021
    15:15, Wolverhampton
    DEC Odds: 9.6 (Betfair Exc)
Juans Les Pins runs in the 3.15pm at Wolverhampton over six furlongs. We decided to give him a little break after he disappointed last start at Chelmsford. He is in good order at home and this looks a nice spot to start him off in. The dangers look to be the David O'Meara and Clive Cox trained runners. He has drawn well in one and Luke Morris takes the ride.

    Dec Odds: 10(BetFair Exchange)
    Sat 13th Mar 2021
Oski has had his chances and come up short especially when swerving across the track at Leicester with his race apparently won. He pulled up last time having also fallen when still in contention at Hereford earlier. It's hard to be too positive but if everything goes smoothly he could be thereabouts.

    DEC Odds: 16 (Betfair Exc)
Pulled up the last day but the heavy/soft ground wasn't ideal and was highly-tried that day in a G2. Into calmer waters here and back on a quicker surface here will help. Also ran well here at Hereford back in November in a maiden hurdle so we know the track is fine. Into a handicap for the first time too and that should make him more competitive. Should be more to come from him and small e/w chance.

    DEC Odds: 10 (Betfair Exc)
Done nothing wrong this season and risen up the ranks with 5 wins on the spin over fences. Up another 9lbs here from his recent Fontwell success and up into a Class 1 Listed Chase makes life a lot harder. But is a proven course winner here and will like conditions. Remains in good heart - any rain would help though, but deserves to take his chance and let's see how he comes with the rise in grade. Each-way chance.

    Vinnie The Hoddie
    Sat 13th Mar 2021
    15:35, Sandown
    DEC Odds: 65 (Betfair Exc)
Vinnie The Hoddie is a slightly annoying horse who can run well, as he did when winning three runs back, and then more often disappoint. We've given him a break since his last race after which we found he had ulcers although I'm not certain they affected his run last time. Hopefully fresh and well again, we can see the good Vinnie today but - as mentioned - a hard horse to catch right and can come with risks.

    Mayo Star
    Dec Odds: 4.5(BetFair Exchange)
    Sat 13th Mar 2021
Mayo Star has done nothing wrong and needed the run first time out when running over fences. It would be silly to lose his novice status so late in the season so we've gone back hurdling and he will absolutely love the ground. It's his first hurdles handicap and he looks fairly treated so we're very hopeful.

Western Rules is an old-timer who has lost his way a bit but he has won on heavy ground. He's at the right end of the handicap but needs to discover some form to figure here.

    Sat 13th Mar 2021
Kangaroo Point is up 6lb for last Saturday's easy Southwell win and like The Rutland Rebel is an improver going for a hat-trick. I think the form suggests Kangaroo Point may have the greater improvement to come and returning to Wolverhampton should not be a problem. He remains in good shape and carries plenty of confidence today.

The Rutland Rebel surpriseed me with the ease of his win here last time, dropping back to a mile and threequarters. I think he's basically quite a slow horse and all about stamina and despite the claims of Kangatroo Point and Adjourned am very hopeful he'll complete the hat-trick.

    Adjourned
    Dec Odds: 5.8(BetFair Exchange)

Adjourned has had his three runs to qualify for a handicap mark and now we will to see if that mark is fair or not. Up in trip to two miles he must have a great chance.

With a hurdles rating 8lb lower than her chase mark it seems sensible to run Sacre Coeur here but I will need to look at the ground first. If it's too bad she won't run. If it's okay she will obviously have two decent mares to beat.

Is going nicely at home and has done well since having another wind op (third) at the end of last year. First run back since that here but looks a nice race to get going again with her. Also returns on a winning mark, as last success came off a pound higher, plus Ben's 5lb claim a plus too. Also a CD winner that acts well on the ground, so certainly not out of this despite looking the likely outsider of the five runners.

If Slipway produces the form of either of his last two races this opposition will find him hard to beat. I would be surprised if any of this field could run past him.

Was meant to run last week, but annoyingly we had to withdraw him. Dropping to 10f is probably not ideal but options are limited for him at the moment. To make things harder he is drawn wide too!

    Nells Son
    Dec Odds: 1.79(BetFair Exchange)

We're only left with three horses for Nell's Son to beat. He's a grand horse who comfortably won over the course and distance on heavy ground before Christmas and I would be disappointed if he couldn't follow up today.

Fair run at Warwick the last day after a few months out. Only fifth career run here today and into a handicap for the first time will help. Trip and ground are fine and seems to be slowly going the right way. Be happy with another step forward here.

Mokaatil has his first run back since the autumn. The worry is that he might not be quite at his best against these good handicappers. He has plenty of ability although he has yet to win on all-weather.

Been running with a lot of consistency recently - another close third at Lingfield last time out over this trip. But creeping up the handicap again - 4lbs higher than last time and up in grade here too. On a plus, we get in with a light weight (8-2) and another gutsy performance on the cards, but would need a career-best to take this against six rivals all rated higher than us, but with a featherweight can hopefully still make presence felt.

Storm Melody is a really good consistent horse albeit at a low level. He is dropping back to five furlongs but hopefully he is plenty quick enough and fingers crossed he should run well. He's favourite to do so.
