Under Irish law they have to prove its a mistake I think (unless I am reading this wrong)!

Are you saying they couldn't prove a TV at 10% of its retail price isn't a pricing error? And what idiot is going to take it to the ombudsman anyway?

Whats the law on this sort of thing. Has it to be honoured?

Online sale laws are different, there is no obligation to honor a genuine mistake in price afaik.

Most large retailers with online sales also have checks built into their order management software system to validate the price before the final stage of dispatching these days. Very unlikely it would go through irrespective of how many customers tried it or not, depends on the business though and what level of price validation they have if any. I'd be very surprised if Currys didn't have those safeguards in place.

It ain't happening. That's the reality.

It would be some deal alright but little chance. Only problem is I have no where to put such a large TV.

I would have bought this, but the cost of enlarging my house would have undone the saving.

No. It will be in t and cs that they don't have to honor mistakes.

They're not meant to charge you until the item ships either so it makes it even easier for them to just cancel your order.

There's no hope of getting this honored. It was posted to Beady Eye Bargains on Facebook and had 400+ comments tagging other people so there could be well over 1000 orders gone in.

If Curry's took the hit that'd be over €2m in lost sales. No chance now.

They will be laughing about it in the head office boardroom.

Probably did it on purpose. Website traffic surely got a lovely boost with plenty of people buying something anyway

Our contract after you have ordered
Firstly, don’t panic if you make any mistakes during your order, you can correct any input errors right up until you confirm payment. Once you’re happy everything is correct and you’ve submitted an order you’ll be given an Order Reference Number and details of the products (and/or services) you have ordered. You’ll then receive an email headed ‘Order Acknowledgement’ recognising receipt of your order. We will then send a further email headed ‘Order Confirmation’. This second email also lets you know how your products will be delivered to you. If we have to cancel all or part of your order for any reason, we will email you to let you know.

If you have placed an order by telephone and you don't have an email address, we'll give you the Order Reference Number over the phone and post you a copy of your receipt.

Sometimes we have to hold our hands up and admit we have made a mistake by unintentionally publishing inaccurate information on the site (e.g. the price, description or availability of a product you have ordered). In this instance we may have to cancel your order at any time, even if you have received your Order Confirmation email, and you will receive a full refund of any charges already paid. Refunds can take up to 5 working days to appear back into your account.

    Cant see it being honoured.

    Of course it won't.

The only chance anyone has is the person that noticed it. But as soon as they told somone else, they ****ed it for themselves.

Yup if it was a week day and orders are processed on the day and sent out there may be a chance a few orders might slip through but can’t see it happening
