Green Party peer Jenny Jones has called for a 6pm curfew for men so that women can feel safe especially after the disappearance of Sarah Everard.

So it looks like this charming lady is pointing the finger at all men because (as we all know) a lot of men skipped school that day they covered "don't beat up, harass, rape and murder women'.

This comes on the back of Ray Darcy on his radio show earlier today talking about how us men should get our act together because women feel unsafe while walking out at night alone. He mentioned his wife avoiding an area near where they reside, referring to it as the "rape area" even though he admitted no rape ever occurred there. There was a suggestion that other men were at fault (presumably we aren't telling our rapist friends to stop) and that it was somehow the fault of the parents, i.e their daddys (not mommy's) forgot to tell their little boys the rights from the wrongs.

The world is a horrible place, there are horrible people out there that for whatever reason think it is acceptable to harm you. I'm fairly sure men are less safe out at night than women but I stand to be corrected on that one. As a man I don't feel safe out at night time or even during the day depending where I am. I avoid certain areas, I don't be in town on my own at night. I don't walk out of nightclubs at 3am, wander down a dark alleyway etc etc.

You can't simply walk up to individual capable of such horrible things and tell them "stop now, that's not on" and he has a breakdown and agrees. These people don't respond to reason.

Is it fair to suggest all men should be targetted so that women can enjoy some sort utopian society in the evenings with the sisterhood.

She also believes that discrimination of all kinds will be lessened as a result.

“In the week that Sarah Everard was abducted and, we suppose, killed—because remains have been found in a woodland in Kent—I argue that, at the next opportunity for any Bill that is appropriate, I might put in an amendment to create a curfew for men on the streets after 6 pm. I feel this would make women a lot safer, and discrimination of all kinds would be lessened.”

Yep, and likewise I'd object to any suggestion of locking myself away from 6pm to keep myself safe and away from all men.

I'm sure it's just a throwback to the curfew on women during the Yorkshire ripper days

Heard some numpty on earlier on news stating he can walk home safe at be perfect in every way and not be attacked but all women would....
