Looking to pick up a UDM Pro. Ubiquiti eu store is €391 but found a website irishwireless.net doing it for €348. Anyone ever use this website?

Anyone know best place to buy one?

Also, currently have FTTC and will hopefully be getting eir FTTH in the next couple months. I take it that UDM pro will be able to be used as the router using PPOE settings? Meaning I can remove my ASUS DSL-N68U.

I think I used them years ago - they were ok.

Products generally come with EU plugs on them too.

Note that €348 is ex VAT too so would end up at €429

Should have known!! Gonna use this for segmenting IoT devices and guest networks. and maybe in the future use with cameras as already using synology and pretty happy with setup.

I already have a AP-AC Lite upstairs and AP-AC Lite-6 downstairs, powered by the flex Poe switch and also have two flex mini switches dotted around the house.

If I can find a discount code I’ll get it! Haha

Anyone got a discount that works on ui.com

Don’t you think it is overkill for the home network?
Ubiquiti UniFi USG could be used with PPPoE settings too

The USG maxes out at 150Mb if IDS is enabled.

OP, go for the UDMP, I've got the whole unifi setup, network gear and cameras, it's expensive but savage!

If you have a rack you can probably just use OPNsense in a VM to connect to the internet, it supports PPPoE and I have it setup with no need for an ISP modem.

Do you just use that with your UDM pro? So I could remove the ASUS from the equation?

OPNsense/pfSense are routers/firewalls/modems (PPPoE/fiber) so I've no UDM pro. What would it give me?

Probably nothing, I just love the UniFi experience and want to move completely to UniFi.

Not sure what speed internet you have but UDMP doesnt get full 1Gb speeds over PPPOE. Its a known issue and nothing to do with security settings. I have 1Gb with airwire and i max out at around the 700-750Mb mark. This hasnt been an issue for me as the upload was more important to me. But just something to consider.

Eir FTTH doesn't need PPPoE settings. Rest of ISP different story.

I’m currently on 100mb (87d/23u), that doesn’t bother me, I will be well pleased with 700mb. Thanks for that info though.

Do you connect directly in from your ONT to the UDM pro ?

Yea direct connection. Sorry one other thing the switching on the UDMP is fairly poor with 1Gb/s max throughput. Not sure how many wired devices you have but that can be an issue. But you can just use the flex poe for that (although im not sure of the throughput on the flex offhand i imagine its better than 1Gb) you should be fine

I have 4 devices connected to the flex mini which is powered by the flex. I have about 7 devices (2 of which a Unifi AP which are connected and powered by the flex) in total so shouldn’t be a problem.

to be fair it isn't an issue for most general usage.
