Kia 7 year warranty - UK import

Spoke to dealer today about a Kia sportage, didn't realise it was a UK import but they have done the VRT etc.
He says the 7 year kia warranty is transferable from the uk, can anyone here confirm? Garage (not main dealer) also giving 6 months warranty - thinking about this is this odd considering there are a few years left of the kia manufacture warranty?

    Thanks in advance!

What age and mileage is on the car? The Kia warranty is 7 years or 150,000 km - whichever comes first. The 7 year warranty also isn't bumper to bumper and the warranty on some components is shorter, ie the stereo I think is only 3 or 5 years. If your getting a 6 month dealer warranty on top of this then it covers you and the dealer in most cases it won't cost the dealer anything. They will just get a Kia dealer to cover it.

    Thank you - 100,000KM 2017. So 3 years warranty.

It's transferrable but you'll need a full verifiable service history to maintain warranty.

Just bought a 2017 Sportage from a Dealer. Had looked at a few Sportage's, UK imports with small mileage, but every time I enquired about warranty I was given very vague answers which put me off.

yep I didn't notice this one was an import, as I wouldn't have rang otherwise.
