I looked at eBay but the premiums are shocking

Import duty on an ounce of platinum is 200 Eur.

It's outrageous. They declare it on the manifest , so it won't go unnoticed by the tax man.

Send it to someone you may know in the US, order from APMEX website. Arrange to take possession of it without paying excise
